Opener won’t open (or won’t close)
This is the classic “I’m late for work” call. Sometimes it’s the motor. Sometimes it’s sensors, a travel limit, a stuck lock, or a door problem the opener is protecting you from.
Common opener-side causes

Noisy, grinding, or starts-then-stops
Grinding and mid-travel stops are two of the best reasons to get a pro eyes-on before the opener damages the door — or vice versa.
What grinding often means
- Worn gear assembly (common on older units)

Honest rule of thumb we use on-site: grinding that points to a dying gear set often favors replacement on older openers. Mid-travel alone is not always “buy a new motor.”

You’ll get a straight answer. We don’t upsell a full opener when a board, sensors, or a spring is the real fix — and we won’t “save” a unit that will strand you again next month.

Can you repair any brand of opener?
We work on the openers most Mid-South homes have — LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and common residential units. If parts are obsolete, we’ll say so and quote a solid replacement instead of a dead-end repair.
Is this different from spring or door repair?
